Environmental Initiatives
As a leader in the recreational property industry, Atlantic Tides is committed to owning, developing and managing premier recreational properties that are sustainable and environmentally friendly. We continue to expand and enhance the features, systems and programs that foster energy efficiency in our community designs, as well as the health and safety of all our clients, employees, and the community.
LEED Certification
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the internationally accepted scorecard for sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality.
New Developments
We are committed to environmental sustainability, and all future developments will be built to a LEED Gold standard.
We will undertake routine, comprehensive environmental reviews and upgrades at our properties. In addition, renovations will be executed with the most environmentally conscious products available. Our goal is to provide communities of the highest quality for our customers while minimizing the environmental footprint. This is why we’ve made sustainability a top priority.

Other programs:
Atlantic Tides works with various organizations in an effort to keep current with progams and initiatives focused on reducing our enviromental footprint. We suscribe to BOMA Canada's ( Building Owners and Managers Association ) "Go Green" initiative. We will continue to work with these organizations in their effort to promote environmentally friendly real estate.
Atlantic Tides has accepted BOMA Canada's 7 point challenge:
- Continue to work towards a goal to decrease energy consumption by 30 percent across our portfolio by 2012;
- At least once a year, benchmark energy performance and water usage through EPA’s ENERGY STAR benchmarking tool;
- Provide education to our managers, engineers, and others involved in building operations, to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and utilized;
- Perform an energy audit and/or retro-commissioning of our buildings, and implement low-risk, low-cost and cost effective strategies to improve energy efficiency with high returns;
- Extend equipment life by improving the operations and maintenance of building systems and ensure equipment is operating as designed;
- Through leadership, positively impact our community and our planet by helping to reduce our industry’s role in global warming; and
- Position ourselves and the industry as leaders and solution providers to owners and customers seeking operational and environmental excellence
