Atlantic Tides  was incorporated in 2005 to facilitate the acquisition of several  world class parcels of waterfront development property in Nova Scotia.  These properties  were only available  due to the sub prime crisis in the United States, which forced the vendors  to repatriate their capital. The aquisition of these and subsequent properties during this time, has catapulted the company to a leadership position in its major market of Nova Scotia.

The predecessor companies to Atlantic Tides have been active in various facets of the commercial and residential real estate business since the 1980s. The focus on recreational property development occured a decade later, with recreational projects developed in Phoenix Arizonia, Alberta and on the West coast of British Columbia.

The steady escalation in recreational property values  and sucess of those projects over the next ten years provided the capital base to incorporate Atlantic Tides and establish the company with a portfolio of world class development properties.

The strategic decision was made to invest capital into premier recreational development property  in select, one of a kind markets in the Atlantic Provinces. Atlantic Tides took advantage of the recent dislocations in U.S. capital markets and acquired premier development properties on favourable terms.
